8/20/09 - Sketch Contest
Ian was our big winner last week with his very excellent Steve Rogers aka. Captain America remembering his past in "The Glory Days." Ian has chosen the next theme from your suggestions, GI JOE, a real AMERICAN Hero. I just came back from the new motion picture--I wish I could bring good news of a great GI Joe story--but alas it was not to be. I could go into more detail but, honestly it would terrify you. Thankfully we have some great sketches in store for you that hopefully capture the spirit of GI Joe from the cartoon to the comic books. Enjoy!

I am really torn between Ian and Ezio. Ezio has some great work there and Ian's makes you laugh. But my vote will have to go to Ian cause of the theme of "GI JOE, a real AMERICAN Hero". Nothing makes you think of America heroes more then enlisting in the Army or Navy.
Though I enjoy the Snake Eyes by Ezio, I am going to have to vote for Ian's. It kinda makes me want to join the navy, seeing as how they allow parrots to be wore at all times.

this was a tough one. ian has the word seamen in giant letters and oris has a mountain goat in the background. and the mountain goat almost got me. but im gunna vote for jarrod. cause i feel like if i dont his guy is gunna beat me up.
I vote for Ezio's cause i like the composition, color and that big old bloody knife. A big knife!
I LOVE Ian's print. The faces are exquisitely detailed and I love the retro recruiting thing. Plus it has Shipwreck, and how can you not love Shipwreck?
I love 4.) Jarrod - Beach Head I just think its a good character design! Very nice work all around though!
I vote for Ian. Hands down
This is a great selection here--everyone did really good work--but I loved the cartoon and Ori's definitely captures the feel of that show. Even if it's Outback? Who the hell is Outback!!! I vote for Ori.
